A natural product tackle a cold at its source

mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray

Most cold medicines only treat the symptoms; however, mundicare® Cold Defence nasal spray attacks a cold at its source and eliminates cold viruses from the nasal lining. When used at the first signs of a cold, it’s clinically proven to stop colds up to 2 days early!1-3 It’s also preservative & steroid free and can be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding and kids from 12 months.

It’s powered by Carragelose™ – a natural ingredient sourced from red seaweed. Carragelose™ forms a barrier in the nasal passage that traps cold viruses, helping to reduce their multiplication and spread, allowing your body’s natural defences to sweep the viruses away from the nasal lining. So the next time you or your child catches a cold, remember to use mundicare® Cold Defence at the first signs and help stop your cold early.

Common cold viruses are inhaled through the nose and mouth and attach to the mucosal lining where they multiply and spread.

  • FAQ

Can mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray be used for both treatment and prevention of common cold?

When used at the first signs of a cold, mundicare® Cold Defence nasal spray is clinically proven to help shorten the duration of a cold by up to 2 days*¹¯³, as well as helping to reduce the severity of common cold symptoms.⁴⁻⁵ It may also help prevent a cold from taking hold by forming a protective barrier in the nasal lining to trap common cold viruses, helping to stop their multiplication and spread.

When should I use mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray?

mundicare® Cold Defence should be used at the first signs of a cold, within 48 hours of symptoms appearing, to help shorten its duration and lessen the severity of symptoms. It can also be used when not experiencing a cold to provide moisturisation of the nasal lining and to also help prevent a cold by forming a protective barrier in the nasal lining to trap common cold viruses.

How long can mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray be used for?

Unlike decongestant nasal sprays which need to be limited to a maximum of 3-5 days of use, mundicare® Cold Defence is not medicated or habit forming, therefore can be used as often as needed. However, if symptoms persist see your healthcare professional.

How does mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray differ to saline?

mundicare® Cold Defence is not a saline only nasal spray. It has been formulated with Carrageenan that forms a protective barrier in the nasal lining to trap common cold viruses, helping to stop their multiplication and spread.

What’s the difference between the adult and kids mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray? Is there a different dosage for children?

Both mundicare® Cold Defence adult and kids nasal sprays contain 1.2mg/mL of Carrageenan in a saline base, however the adult spray delivers 0.14mL solution/spray whilst the children’s spray delivers a lesser amount (0.05mL/spray) in a gentler mist. The dose for both the adults and kids nasal sprays is 1 spray into each nostril 3 times per day.

Does mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray relieve common cold symptoms?

When used at the first signs of a cold, within 48 hours of symptoms appearing, mundicare® Cold Defence is clinically proven to shorten the duration of a cold and help reduce the severity of symptoms.

If patients seek consultation with their health care professional after 48 hours of onset of symptoms of common cold, should mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray be used?

mundicare® Cold Defence has only been shown to be effective in shortening the duration of a cold or reducing the severity of symptoms if used at the first signs of a cold, within 48 hours of symptoms appearing. However, it can be used after this time to provide moisturisation of the nasal passages. It may also be used by other members of the family to help prevent a cold by forming a protective barrier in the nasal lining.

Can I use mundicare® Cold Defence Nasal Spray with Saline Nasal Sprays?

Although it can be used together with saline nasal sprays, mundicare® Cold Defence does itself contain a saline base and also provides moisturisation of the nasal passages. If using together with another nasal spray, we recommend using mundicare® Cold Defence 15 minutes afterwards.
